I recently read on another blog about a pastor who had a guest speaker (Gene Appel), and he spoke a bit on legacy and he had the congregation take a moment to pray and ponder what they want their legacy to be and then write it down. Legacy essentially is, “What are people going to remember you for when you’re gone?”
So.., what would you right down?
Here is what I wrote:
“I want to leave a legacy of a never-ending search for intimacy with my Creator, His Son, and His Spirit; and an undying Love and Grace to all his children, by living that out with my wife, my children, my family, the church, the community, the world!”
Funny thing is, "Legacy" is a name we are considering for this project. Again, what would you write down?

I kinda like the faith/hope/love triad that Paul used alot. So, I guess I would want my legacy to be:
"He walked in love, exercised strong faith, and was a source of hope to those around him."
At age 53, I'm considering the Legacy thing even more these days. I've also had a couple of brushes with serious illness in the past year that cause me to think about my mortality.
My main stuff is pretty simple.
I want to have been a really good husband who had a lot of fun with is wife and taught my daughters and others what a marriage can be.
I want my, nearly adult children, to say that their dad was a good example of a Godly man, a great husband, lots of fun, and a world changer.
I want to rock my world, which is mostly about my church family and the larger Church. This means that I pushed the visions I am granted with all my power and my work will continue for generations.
I want to be remembered as a guy who wouldn't make much of a Christ follower with out HIs grace and mercy. I'm still a much better sinner than saint so Christ has done amazing things in and through me. I want to leave a legacy of laughter, hard work, and vision.
Wo......I better shut up!
