Church Plant Name - Take the Poll! :-)

I think I have come up with a name for the plant. The name is "Legacy" - Legacy Christian Church. subtitle - "Creating a Legacy of Love and Hope".

It speaks of both a history (the story of God), the present (our Story with God), and the future (What will our Legacy be in the story - what lines in the story will be written about this community of faith and how will it affect the future Generation's story with God). So.., you can do a ton with all of that me thinks. Some other thoughts that came to mind were the following:

Being World Changers by:
Creating a Legacy of Love
Creating a Legacy of Hope
Creating a Legacy of Community
Creating a Legacy of Mission to the World Creating a Legacy of Epic Stories Etc...., etc...., etc......

Whaddya think? Let me know by filling out the poll above. Thanks for helping out!

Well, being that songs always seem to pop in to my mind.....I am singing....What will be my legacy? How will they remember Me? Nichole Nordeman sings this song....check it out....I definately think you are on the right track......Only thing that came up that may not be on the positive side is the World of WarCraft game Legacy.....but I am not in to that, but would check it out anyway to make sure their is not any bad press.....Choosing Him...ALL THE TIME in 2008! Pastor Debra Gilbert....

I like the primary title...but me thinks that when you add the subtitle it get's "Churchy" REAL QUICK. I think it's a great start though. I had something im my mine about foundations. Like building foundations. I dunno...I'll let you know when it hits me. Until then I guess I need to start writing the theme song 'eh?

Richie,

I like the name idea of Legacy Church over Legacy Christian Church.

I think it's a lot more simple and easier to say.

That's my thought though. It's been fun sharing ideas with you on vinceantonucci.com. Hopefully we can throw more ideas off each other in the future.

Love the name, brother. My advice is go with what God tells you to and not worry too much about what man thinks.

I'd also prefer if you added the words "in Christ" to the subtitle, but then don't forget to heed my advice which when combined with $4.20 will buy you a venti Gingerbread Latte at Starbuck's!

I understand the name and understand why your thinking of it but I have to be honest and say I don't like it. It sounds like the focus is on the past, not the future. The name makes me think "old people". It does not make me think of young, new, dynamic, and relevant. It makes me think of a bunch of old people thinking about the end of their lives. That or it makes me think of a car? Yea, like I can hear the commercial now "the new 2008 Legacy, what are you going to leave behind"

I dont know. I just think it doesnt sound like it is really capturing what you are doing.

Sorry to be such a downer. I just wanted someone to represent the NO votes.

Why not just "Legacy"? Why the need to say "Christian Church" after it? When I hear it I think....oh great, ANOTHER church.

Rich,

Steve Sjogren here.
Love the idea. As a wordsmith, 'Legacy' is not what you are looking for.
Have friends with the same name - one in Las Vegas for example. When he decided to go with that name I predicted he would attract mostly Boomers and up age-wise. Bingo! Am I a prophet or what... (just part time - also sell Shaklee door to door on Weds. afternoons...)
You are on the right path with veering away from a faddish name refers to body river, creek, pond, drainage of any type... (smile).
See that you are somehow connected with Erwin. He is a master of mixing a bit from here and a bit from there. He has borrowed some great stuff from me that I had retired. Encourage you to look in the heap of others possibly for gems that have not yet been used - and come up with an original something.
If you want I can connect you with a Mosiac guy here in Tampa working closely with me - between the three of us suspect we can polish up the concept with a newish term that is going to make sense to those under 40...

Legacy is good to go. I like the post about Foundations also.

It doesn't matter though, your love will get more people than any name.

take it easy chessy
